NBS raids NTV again, poaches Gertrude Uwitware

NBS TV continues to fish from rivals NTV and this time they have hooked Gertrude Tumusiime Uwitware.

The reporter who is a darling of many thanks to her compassionate reporting and presenting stories of everyday people will be moving from Serena to Media Plaza in Kamwokya.

Matooke Republic understands that Uwitware has already tendered her resignation and she will join former workmates like Solomon Sserwanjja, Rukh-Shana Namuyimba, Sheila Tusiime Mugisha, Ernest Wisdom Kiyonga, Darren Allan Kyeyune and After Five presenter MC Kats who all used to ply their trade at NTV.

NBS is on an onslaught to overthrow NTV as the leading TV station in the land and they will stop at nothing, including dangling better offers for star NTV staff.

Uwitware is known for her compelling everyday people stories. In the photo she was interviewing albino school children for NTV.

Though always telling other people’s stories, Uwitware was the subject of news this April, when she was reported missing after she was kidnapped by unknown people. In the unforgettable ordeal,  the kidnappers blindfolded and drove her around Kampala’s suburbs while threatening her after posting on Facebook in support of Makerere Researcher Dr. Stella Nyanzi who was arrested for calling President Museveni a pair of buttocks.

Uwitware was dumped in Kira division. She will soon be missing from the NTV newsroom again, this time not held hostage by kidnappers, but the safe hands of NBS.
