Is he still alive? The legend of Ivan Semwanga stirs more controversy in death

Moneyed Socialite Ivan Semwanga was laid to rest at his ancestral home in Kayunga on Tuesday. However, Ivan who lived his last years in the limelight thanks to his colourful social life filled with pomp, money splashing sprees and a very public break-up from his trophy wife who eloped with an even more popular East African star is stirring as more controversy in death.

When his ex-wife Zarinah Tlale, who birthed three boys for him announced the news of his passing, many, including Ivan’s family were quick to point fingers that she was interested in his wealth.  Reason being that she had no business being with him when she left him for Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz and even gave birth to two more children with the singer. But others applauded Zari for standing by her boys in this difficult time.

But as Ivan was being lowered to his final resting place, there was even more talk …and forget about his Rich Gang crew pouring a bottle of his favourite Moet Champagne in the grave and splashing it with money.  It was the conspiracy theory that Ivan might still be alive.

Different audios made rounds on social media with people claiming that Ivan defrauded a South African national identified as Khalid of $216m in cash, diamonds and gold and his get-away plan was to fake his own death. Conspiracy theorists went on that he has already changed his look thanks to plastic surgery and is somewhere in the world enjoying his money.

They claimed that no one was allowed to view Ivan’s body and that the casket was locked all the time. However, photos of Ivan lying lifeless in his casket have surfaced. Some doubting Thomases still believe these are works of Photoshop.

Rest In Peace Ivan Semwanga.
