Woman caught stealing Hummer side-mirrors at Namirembe Cathedral

The woman was aprehended by police.

A woman was this morning caught stealing side mirrors – as if that’s not odd enough, in the parking of a house of God, Namirembe Cathedral, where vice is least expected.

Peters Musoke, a prominent Kampala lawyer from Shonubi. Musoke & Co. Advocates shared the odd story on Facebook.

“She was caught red handed stealing a side mirror off my car this morning at Namirembe Cathedral, a holy place of God!” Musoke posted.

“He (God) was not amused by her actions and made sure she did not get away with it! Thank you Sir! Thanks also to the Cathedral Police!” he posted.

Musoke shared several images of the lady who removed the side mirror of the sleek white Hummer H3 car, like an expert thief.

Musoke’s post was flooded with comments with some wondering how a woman can steal so expertly while others beseeched Musoke to forgive some reasoning she must have been looking for food for her children.

“Bambi, she seems very desperate…. Must be at the end of her tether poor Soul,” Herbert Kiggundu-Mugerwa commented.

Musoke said he forgave and let her go.

“She will probably steal again! It is the thief in her not the need. Not all who are in need steal,” Maria Nakabiito who was not happy with Musoke’s act of forgiveness commented.

Martin Lwanga weighed in that her crime was negligible, compared to the big thieves in government. “I would rather steal side mirror than billions of shillings for health care workers, teachers, HIV patients and Katosi roads. Peter just give that woman something to eat though it is annoying. The real thieves are the guys stashing away our national fortune in their Swiss accounts,” he said.
