Ugandans ranked laziest in East Africa

Uganda is not only soaring in rankings of “best tourism destination” but also, on a sad note, scoring highly in the latest report about work and productivity.

According to Daily Monitor, “A 2016 survey on executive performance in the region, by Dr Norah Njuba an organisational development consultant showed that Ugandans’ poor performance is fueled by poor work ethics and socio-cultural factors such as, disabling beliefs, executive perception about themselves and about their leaders, and lack of a sense of urgency”.

The survey noted that while employers are demanding higher efficiency and productivity, the workplace is awash with highly-qualified but non-performing staff which puts Ugandans at a higher risk of losing job oppourtunities to foreigners.
