We are going to break KCCA FC’s unbeaten home record today — Vipers SC coach vows

Vipers will be seeking to maintain their challenge in the league when they visit nemesis KCCA FC in today’s Azam Uganda premier league game at the Philip Omondi stadium.

The Venoms who are nine points adrift the log leaders will have a chance to lessen the margin and move to 42 points, intensifying pressure on the leading pack should they defeat the Kasasiro boys at their own yard.

Both teams come into this tie on the back of contrasting results; KCCA were held to a 1-1 draw by SC Villa away in Masaka while Vipers got a morale boasting 2-0 win over Soana FC.

Despite this, there is a lot at stake beyond just the game where Jorge Miguel Da Costa’s side will be targeting to be the first league opponents to end KCCA’s unbeaten home run this season. URA were close to breaking this record but the Kasasiro boys came from behind to force a 2-2 stalemate last week.

“We are going there for victory only, we want to be the first side to bring their unbeaten home run to an end,” Vipers coach Jorge Miguel Da Costa vowed after the last training.

Tony Odur’s brace gave Vipers a deserved victory over a hard fighting Soana last Friday and the Kitende based side’s spirits  are high heading to Lugogo  to face a team that has failed to record any league victory in their last four meetings.

The last time there was a winner in a game involving Vipers and KCCA, the victor went on to win the league title although the latter’s chances are brighter basing on the current standings.

Vipers won the reverse fixture 2-1 thanks to goals from Tony Odur and a thunderous rebound from Deus Bukenya at Nakivubo and sealing and completing a double will be a bonus for Da Costa’s boys.
