Singer Angella Katatumba hands over Shs185m to Uganda Cancer Institute

Mulago Cancer Institute (UCI) stake holders now have a reason to smile after singer Angella Katatumba together with the Diplomatic Corps and Mulago Yaffe team handed over the proceeds from last year’s fundraising.

“ Diplomatic Corps and the Mulago Yaffe team, handed over to the Uganda Cancer Institute (UCI), funds of 185,000,000 Millon UGX ($52,000 USD) Cash, that was fundraised at the 2nd Annual Black Tie Dinner, that took place at Kampala Serena Hotel on the 19th of November 2016”, she posted on Facebook.

The event was graced by H.E Uhuru Kenyatta and collected over Ushs350M to help in bolstering the Uganda Cancer Institute. Presidents Kenyatta and Museveni donated shs 70M and shs 100M respectively.

This is not the first time that the lady with a big heart is offering a helping hand. Angella earlier donated 15 brand new single crank Epoxy head beds worth shs15M to the hospital through her ‘Angella Katattumba Development Foundation (AKDF)’. This is only a few of the many nationwide charity projects that Katatumba has organized.

Apart from being a philanthropist, Angella Katatumba is a singer, songwriter, humanitarian, environmentalist and entrepreneur.
