Police spokesman Andrew Felix Kaweesi shot dead

We have woken up to very disturbing news. Police spokesman Andrew Felix Kaweesi has been confirmed dead. He was shot by unknown assailants just 100 metres out of his home in Kulambiro, a Kampala suburb neighbouring Kisaasi.

Kaweesi, 43, was the Assistant Inspector General of Police, but also served at the director of human resource. He was on his way to work in his official car, a Toyota Prado, registration number UP 4778.

He and two other police officers including his driver and bodyguard have been confirmed dead.

No further details have so far emerged but Inspector General of Police Kale Kaihura has rushed to the scene.
