Club Music Video Awards releases list of judges  

This year’s edition of Club Music Video Awards slated for March is already taking shape and form as the much anticipated list of nominees is yet to be released. The list of judges features Ugandans and other foreign top music and media personalities . Below are the judges who will oversee the process.

Rachael Magoola

1.Rachael Magoola whose magical voice embraces the many influences that make up contemporary Uganda, and whose original compositions reflect the richness of her country’s cultural heritage embedded in a modern sound. Magoola honed her vocal and songwriting skills with Afrigo.  In turn the band was enriched by her knowledge of Ugandan musical traditions. Her talents produced many of Afrigo’s top hits of the 1990’s and early 2000’s including “Obangaina,” which put Ugandan pop on the world music map.

2.Adong Lucy Judith is yet another judge who will grace the Club Music Video Awards with her talent and expertise. She lectured at Makerere University Department of Performing Arts and Film and Institute of Languages for 8 years (2005-2012).



She is a Film/Theatre Director, Writer & Producer, graduating from Temple University MFA Film and Media in 2015 under the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship (2012), where she also took classes in MFA Theatre Directing.

Edward Sendikaddiwa

3.Edward Sendikaddiwa aka EDy Sendi is a passionate British trained computer scientist who wears many hats in the performing arts space. He is a hands-on Studio Producer, Theatre Director, Comedy Sketch writer, Performing Arts Critic and a lover of Ugandan Music History. Always up to date with the latest on the Entertainment Industry, and keen to grow local talent in Uganda. He works with Dembe fm as a panelist on Talk & Talk show, an entertainment talk show.

6.Born in Angola, Mell Chaves is a very well know TV Host at Escola da Moda, a reality show featured in 185 countries on Record TV (Channel 515 Dstv), Mell is also a Fashion, Stylist and Beauty Blogger and PR Consultant as well as Editor in Chief of the multiple award winning Chocolate Magazine.

The nominees list will be released on 14th February, while the awards will take place on 18th March.
