Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, told MPs during the plenary sitting on January 10, 2017, that following a commitment by Parliament to give the money to the Cranes, it was prudent that the funds are channeled to the team when in Gabon.

She directed the Clerk to Parliament, Jane Kibirige to have the funds processed.

“I will be going to Gabon and would want to go with their cheque so if members don’t find, can we agree that the funds be deducted from your salaries so we can support them and give them more courage,” Kadaga requested.

The MPs have fulfilled their pledge. The country awaits Uganda Cranes to revive their AFCON campaign as they face Egypt today at 10pm
