Comedians are not taking it lightly that certain people seem not to find one of their own funny. Anne Kansiime’s comedy antics is becoming a growing public debate after several seem to have fallen out with her acts.
Fellow comedian Patrick Idringi aka Salvado has come out with a strong spirited defense of the only prolific female comedian in the country.
“Kansiime Anne is a Ugandan treasure… she’s inspirational even to me, she’s amazing, a woman standing strong in a Man’s industry.. you like her.. Good, you don’t find her art good.. too bad, will that change who she is and what she does.. I doubt .. my suggestion.. do what works for you… coz clearly what she’s doing is working for her.. you are entitled to your opinion.. but ask yourself.. for who??? Who cares about your opinion… who are you?… what have you done for yourself to have an opinion that you think should matter of a Gem that has broken records, won awards, won affections, won admiration all over the world.. who are you to have an opinion.. you who has your Facebook posts to talk about as achievements?? Who are you? Sometimes not all opinions should be made public.. I don’t like Kato Lubwama.. but this is the first time your hearing or reading about it .. why.. coz I had kept it to myself .. coz it won’t affect or change who he is or what the People who love him think about him.. DO WHAT WORKS FOR YOU… NOT EVERYONE WILL LIKE IT BUT DO IT COZ IT WORKS FOR YOU ……. PEACE”
One Loukman Ali, a much sought after creative film maker could not hold his opinions to himself. He lashed the whip at Kansiime on Facebook claiming the multi award winning comedian has run out of jokes. In his words, “I keep seeing this annoying DStv ad with the annoying, loud and unfunny Ann kansiime, I don’t understand why people find her funny, She has only one joke (the old accent joke) Switching ad aware back on!”
Kansiime angrily responded to this claim and went ahead to blocked Loukman on Facebook.
