Pastors are expected to be the shepherds of the flock- to convert souls to love God. Now days, it’s taking new shocking twists! Some pastors are doing unorthodox rituals to their followers in the name of performing miracles. Shockingly, huge crowds go ahead to accept anything told to them. Talk about sheep following the shepherd!

Prophet Lethebo Rabalago aka Prophet of Doom

This week, a story of a South African pastor called Prophet Lethebo Rabalago who runs the Mount Zion General Assembly in the Limpopo province, “broke the internet”. The pastor was photographed “spraying off diseases and demons” using what could be seen as an insecticide! The insecticide company came out and issued a statement warning believers that their product has no powers over demons and diseases. They further warned that inhalation of the spray is hazardous to health since the chemicals that kill the insects are lethal to human life too. Pastor Rabalago defended his action claiming his was given a divine instruction to heal people using the spray!

Retired Supreme Court Judge Prof. George W. Kanyeihamba Dies at 85

Our very own Uganda is not short of drama as well. Since time immemorial, we have been witnessing various pastors pull different stunts.  Pastor Augustine Yiga “Abizaayo” of Revival Church Kawala is one the most talked about pastors in the country, mostly for very controversial reasons.

Yiga last week instructed his church members to go with a new tooth brush on Sunday. Abizaayo said he would anoint all the toothbrushes and afterwards each member will be using the blessed toothbrush. He claimed that whatever someone who has used that brush will say, it will automatically be done in their favour!

He had also earlier sent each of them to bring an egg. The eggs were then collected and boiled during the prayer service. Pastor declared that whoever would eat the boiled egg would be healed.

In probably the most bizarre move, he claimed to have been instructed by God that all his followers should come with a handkerchief. As usual he had to first bless it through prayers and then instructed his followers to put them under their pillows.

“No demons would prosper against them”, he declared.

Another time he requested everyone to come with a cup for tea. God had told him that the tea would cleanse all diseases. These are few cases. There are lots of weird things happening out there! Hallelujah!
