Kanyamunyu brothers and Cynthia Munwangari charged with murder , remanded to Luzira over Akena shooting

Prime suspects in the murder of Kenneth Akena have been charged formally this afternoon at Nakawa high court. Matthew Kanyamumuyu, his brother Joseph Kanyamunyu and Cynthia Muwanguria appeared in the docks and were charged with murder. They pleaded not guilty to the charges.  The trio have been remanded to Luzira prison till 6th December.

Clad in a black suit, the accused Matthew Kanyamunyu appeared calm and collected and was visibly at his by the side of his fellow accused his girlfriend, Cynthia and the brother Joseph.  Donning a stripped polo t-shirt, Surprisingly, it was only the brother who arrived at the court premises handcuffed.
The victim Akena Kenneth is said to have scratched the car of the accused Matthew Kanyamunyu who responded by shooting at Lugogo shopping mall parking yard.The alleged murder case has been the talk of town the last week after the matter was sensationalized along tribal lines coupled with Kanyamunyu’s “connections” with the power circles in the country.
