Kampala Capital City Authority has started fixing numbered plates on all Kampala roads, streets and buildings to make it easier for citizens to locate places.
According to KCCA, the new ‘City address model’ involves naming all roads, streets and access roads as well as assigning numbers to all houses in the city using permanent plates.
‘’Before, paper stickers were used to mark people’s residences to demonstrate the effectiveness of the project. But are now replacing them with permanent plates,’’ read a post off KCCA’s official Facebook page.
‘’The project shall follow the new sequence of naming all properties, which will lead to dropping off all old addresses. This will help citizens and visitors in the city to easily identify all buildings by their unique numbers,’’ a KCCA official told us.
