Looking for Tuesday plot, catch the movie Man On Ground at the monthly African Movie Night at the National Theatre, Kampala this evening.
Man On Ground is the story of a young Nigerian man living in the African refugee tenements of Johannesburg, South Africa who disappears against the background of animosity against immigrants flaring into violent rioting. In the span of a single night, his brother, on a short visit from London, tries to elucidate the mystery.
The movie is premised on Mozambican-born Ernesto Alfabeto Nhamuave whose picture as “the flaming man” woke the world up to South Africa’s xenophobia in 2008. Jacob’s Cross villain Fabian Adeoye Lojede plays the lead in the film.
African Movie Night organiser Moses Serugo says that Man On Ground producer Rosie Motene will be on hand to introduce the movie and take your questions in a post-screening Q&A session.
Motene is best remembered for her role as journalist Tsego Motene on the soapie Generations. She is also known for hosting the M-Net magazine show Studio 53 alongside BBA1 Ugandan rep Gaetano Kagwa.
