A new beauty pageant is here; and this time round it’s the search for Miss Earth.
Miss earth 2016 was announced yesterday at a press briefing held at Crystals International School and according to the organisers, the pageant will attract up to thirteen ladies.
The contestants will check into a weeklong boot camp at Crystals International School until September 3rd, the same day the winner will be crowned at grand finale slated for Theatre Labonita.
The pageant has five categories; Miss Earth Uganda, Miss Earth Air, Miss Earth Water and Miss Earth Fire; and they will all be crowned at next week’s grand finale.
The winners of the pageant will participate in environmental related activities ranging from NFA tree seed center training, forest hiking, as well as well as recycling activities at Pipeline design and form industries in Gayaza and Luzira.
They will also participate in Wild life conservation and children environmental campaigns St. Ngamba chimpanzee Sanctuary.
The overall Miss Earth Uganda 2016 winner will also represent Uganda in Manila Philipnes on October 29th this year.
Gates will be open at 7pm and entry will be 20k for ordinary and 50k for VIP.
