Forum for Democratic Change’s Rtd. Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye was released from Luzira prison on bail yesterday.
He has been on remand for two months, over treason charges, following presidential elections and going ahead to hold a mock swearing ceremony as the President of Uganda.
During a press conference at the FDC headquarters in Najjanankumbi this morning, Besigye narrated what he has been up to in prison – basically nothing.
“I have been doing a lot of nothing, basically wake up, eat and sleep. In fact some people are saying I have gained a lot of weight,” Besigye joked.
“I tried to do some exercises in the field, but it’s dusty. I got flu and toned it down,” he said.
