besigye van1Police has arrested the driver of the famous Police black van used to drive Besigye into custody during the recent election season. It was nick-named “Besigye van” by Forum for Democratic Change die hards around town.

Isaac Ssegawa, a police officer working with the Special Operations Unit at Kampala Central Police Station (CPS), was arrested on Sunday in Mbarara, against suspicion that he involved himself in car robbery. The police officer’s arrest followed already-captured suspects pin-pointing him as the master planner of the flopped deal which had led to their arrest.

Through its spokesperson, Fred Enanga, the police force says it is presently conducting investigations and gathering evidence to use against Mr Ssegawa, after which the officer will be arraigned in court  to face charges of robbery.
