Word reaching us is that Lord Mayor-elect Elias Lukwago has also been put under house arrest for three days now. And that, like the case at Dr. Besigye’s home in Kasangati, the security guards manning Lukwago’s home are allowing almost no one to access the politicians’ home.
In fact the Lord Mayor-elect himself took to his Facebook wall two hours ago to update the public about the situation at his home, saying it is now three days since he’s been under house arrest and not allowed to leave his home.
Some commentators say Lukwago, Besigye and all other opposition politicians with a record of stirring masses into chaos are being put under house arrest till the presidential swearing-in is done with, so that they might not disrupt peace and proceedings.
The president swears in on Thursday next week.
