sevoPresident Yoweri Museveni has assured Ugandans that the on-going presidential and parliamentary elections are going to be violence free.

After casting his vote at Karro High School in Kiruhura district, Museveni who is seeking electoral mandate to extend his 30-year rule by another five years said that the security forces are ready for anyone who will try to cause violence.

“We are ready for you. The whole army is ready. Do violence and see,” Museveni said.

There has been a countrywide deployment of over 150,000 forces including the army, police and even prisons to ensure that the election doesnot degernate into violence.

Museveni also addressed the issue of Uganda Communications Commission instructing mobile networks to cut Ugandans off social media platforms. Government feels social media would have been used by Ugandans to fan violence.

“Some people misuse social media. If you want a right, you must use it properly,” Museveni said.

“The measure is temporary,” he assured.
