Not even a 14-year sentence has stood in the way of Lydia Draru’s smile. Draru, shot to fame after confessing to killing former army commander Maj. Gen. James Kazini in 2009.
She was sentenced was to 14 years in prison over manslaughter, in 2011. Gen. Kazini was found dead in her house in Namuwongo, a Kampala suburb.
But seven years later, Draru seems to have come face to face with the fact that Luzira Prison will be her home for the next seven years.
And like they say, a photo speaks a thousand words, Draru’s smile in the photo – taken recently, means she seems to be managing well in prison.
And away from the smile, Draru also seems to have found a good ground to upgrade her hair styling skills. In the photo, Draru is seen styling a fellow inmate’s hair; and her own doesn’t look that bad too. We were reliably informed that Draru is a very popular hairstylist in Luzira prison!
