Tamale Mirundi calls Buwembo a ‘mafia’ for attacking Kato Lubwama

Former presidential advisor Tamale Mirundi believes the “mafia” are behind the looming downfall of legislator Kato Lubwama. One of the highlights in the news over social media this week has been about the Lubaga South MP losing the first phase in his academic qualifications case which was filed by an activist Habib Buwembo. This puts the legislator under threat of losing his seat.

However Mirundi claims that fellow Baganda only fight each other when a “mafia” is involved.

‘’When you see a Muganda attacking a fellow Muganda, he is a mafia,’’ Tamale said.

Buwembo in his first plea filed a case against Lubwama contending the later never passed O-level and that he did not acquire a UNEB certificate. However his petition was rubbished by Lubwama’s lawyers saying it was presented out of the stipulated time of filing election petitions.

The kampala high court jugde Margaret Oguli yesterday allowed Buwembo to file an election petition out of the 30 days challenging Lubwama’s academic qualifications.

After Oguli  ordered Lubwama and the Electoral commission to pay back to Buwembo the costs of his application,  Lubwama through his lawyers asked court to make an oral application for the leave of court to appeal against the entire decision of court.

Buwembo was given permission to file an election petition in the next 30 days.
