86-year-old Gen. Moses Ali advised to stay away from campaigns

The year is not ending with any good news for jailed Rwenzururu king Charles Wesley Mumbere. The monarch, who is charged with murder appeared before Jinja Chief Magistrate, John Francis Kaggwa who further remanded him to Nalufenya until December 28, 2016.

The  development means the embattled king will not join the traumatized Rwenzururu subjects for the Christmas season, a period characterized by merrymaking and family bonding world allover.

There was also a standoff between police and opposition politicians like Dr Kizza Besigye and the Leader of Opposition in Parliament Winnie Kiiza who were denied access to the courtroom and later arrested. They were whisked off by police to unknown destination.
