Leave kimansulo.  Focus on wealth creation- President Museveni advises youth

If you are a fan of twerking or kimansulo, well the president has a message for you!
While addressing the 5th Annual Convention of the Great Lakes Young Leaders Forum yesterday at the International University of East Africa in Kampala, President Yoweri Museveni urged the youth to focus on uplifting themselves out of poverty. He urged the youth to desist from destructive habits like strip-tease dance commonly known as kimansulo.

“If you want to see change in your life, start with yourself. Don’t look at Uganda, Kenya or Tanzania. Start by changing yourself”, he stated.

He further expounded on the need for the youth to embrace unity if they are to make a difference in the lives of people.

“If young people desire to see their families prosper, they should embrace integration because it widens markets and creates wealth. Look at Uganda’s maize industry for example; of the four million tonnes we produce annually, only one million tonnes is consumed here. We export the remaining three million to our EAC partners. If we lacked that market, the maize industry in Uganda would be dead. Integration helps Africa negotiate with larger markets of the world as a bloc. If Uganda goes to negotiate with China, it’s like a rabbit negotiating with an elephant. Negotiation needs to happen among equals”, he stated.

He concluded by advising the youth to adhere to Pan-Africanism and uphold African values.
