Myko Ouma fine tunes his Guitar for the Kool & The Gang live in Kampala Concert

Guitar Maestro and Vocalist Myko Ouma will be one of the three Ugandan acts to look forward to at the upcoming Tusker Malt Lager sponsored Kool & The Gang live in Kampala concert at the Kololo Airstrip Grounds on the 12th of November.

Well known for his skill of integrating Ugandan folk music, the guitarist has developed a unique playing style informed by the traditional rhythms and melodies of Ugandan roots music.

The multi-talented Myko Ouma can play over 12 musical instruments and he has worked with several big name artistes both on stage and in studio. As the opening act for Kool & The Gang, this comes as a major boost in Ouma’s career who is currently in studio working on a new album. With more than two albums under his name Myko Ouma is certainly destined for bigger things.

He will be joined by Saxophonist Isaiah Katumwa and Hip Hop and R&B group Swahili Nation who will turn up the ante as revelers move to the good vibes before Kool & The Gang take to the stage.

“Sharing a stage with the legendary Kool & The Gang band is set to be a great career milestone. With such a highly anticipated concert, I must say that I’ll put strive to put on fabulous performance as I always do. ” Myko Ouma remarked.



The 70s style themed concert will held in one of a kind 4,000 seater dome in what will be the biggest production in Uganda so far. Talent Africa and Silk Events who are the event organizers, have promised an experience that will not be rivalled by any other.

Commenting on the Maestro Guitarist, Uganda Breweries Limited Head of Promotions, Roy Tumwizere said; “Myko Ouma will bring the much needed Ugandan Jazz feel to the concert. He has a huge following and we shall be there to dance to his tunes as we enjoy cold crisp Tusker Malt Lagers.”

“Our commitment as Tusker Malt Lager, is to deliver only the finest musical experiences to our consumers. And we shall do exactly this through the Kool & The Gang concert.” He added.

Tusker Malt Lager is synonymous with some of the best afro musical acts in Uganda and through Kool & the Gang, consumers can expect a slightly different dimension but all the same a funky musical experience.

Tickets will be sold in the Bronze, Silver and Gold categories.  Bronze tickets are available at 150k, Silver Tickets at 250k and Gold VVIP tables are 5 million shillings a table.

Tickets are on sale at www.easyticket.co.ug, www.jumia.ug, Definition Shop in Acacia Mall, Liquid Silk in Bugolobi and Talent Africa/Yujo Restaurant in Nakasero.

In line with its support for responsible drinking, Tusker Malt Lager will be maintaining a strict ‘over 18 only’ policy for sale of alcohol.
