Oscar winning Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o has fallen in love with head wraps. We guess she has reduced trips to the salon as she has completed all her ensembles in the Queen of Katwe movie related events with head wraps.

The actress plays Harriet Nakku, the mother of 14-year-old Phiona Mutesi in the movie about the chess prodigy and she had to use a head wrap to authentically fit in with the average middle aged Ugandan woman of Nakku’s times whose gomesi (traditional dress) was always completed with a Kitambala (head wrap).

The head wrap also helps Lupita look the part of the mother as its a styling trick to make her appear older. Movie fans find her more believable and suitable for her role with these head wraps, so whether its a premiere, a TV interview or press conference Lupita will Lupit … oops repeat the head wraps. It’s a head wrap Lupitation … sorry we meant repetition.
