After reading about John Ahumura, the 131-year-old man from Bundibugyo and probably the oldest in the world, President Museveni immediately invited him to State House, Entebbe.

“Ahumura, whose birth certificate shows he was born in 1885, visited me in company of Fr Fabius Bainakanaama, of St. Padre Pio Nyahuka Catholic Parish, Bundibugyo,” Museveni posted on his official Facebook page.

The president who recently celebrated his 72nd birthday asked the old man about his secret to longevity.

He also granted the old man’s request that the government builds him a house on top of providing basic necessities.

If verified, Ahumura will be the oldest living human being in the world of all time.

Jean Louise Calment lived for 122 years.

Oldest people in the world.

The greatest fully authenticated age to which any human has ever lived is 122 years 164 days by Jeanne Louise Calment (France). Born on 21 February 1875 to Nicolas (1837 – 1931) and Marguerite (neé Gilles 1838 – 1924), Jeanne died at a nursing home in Arles, southern France on 4 August 1997.

113 year old Ysreal is the world’s verified oldest living man.

Currently, the world’s authenticated oldest man is 113 year-old Yisrael Kristal who was born in Poland in 1903.

Singapore’s Mbaha Gotho is claimed to be the world’s oldest man at 145 but his age is not verified.

Singapore claims to have the worlds oldest man, Indonesian Mbah Gotho, who is 145 years old, with documentation that says he was born in 1870. Like our Ahumura, his age has also not been verified.

The UK’s Independent reported that Gotho said he began preparing for his death since 1992, even having a gravestone made, but 24 years later he is still alive.

He has now outlived all 10 of his siblings, his four wives and his children.

Though his age is impressive, Gotho said all he wants now is to die.
