Led by Nkoba za Mbogo Students Association, Buganda Youth this morning demonstrated against the Buganda Land Board’s (BLB) alleged incompetence which prompted one of the Kabaka’s subjects a one Mabirizi to sue the Kabaka.

While demonstrating placards at the Palace, the youth noted that the act of suing Kabaka Ronald Mwenda Mutebi for alleged crimes that the leaders are answerable for, is not only insulting to the Kabaka, but also to the Kingdom of Buganda at large.

The youth who were led by their chairperson Haruna Badru Sonko, demanded that the Kingdom’s Prime Minister, Charles Peter Mayiga should look into the matters of BLB and act accordingly in order to protect the glory of the king.

“The current leaders are all sitting quietly and not standing up to address the matter and find a lasting solution to these problems,” Sonko said. “As youths, we have been forced to act because of the court case against our King and how the prime minister together with the kingdom leaders are silent while our king is being disrespected. We have reason to believe that Mabirizi had a genuine cause to seek legal recourse but he accused the wrong person while the real suspect is the BLB management team,” he added.
