24 Family members survive death after eating a poison-laced meal

Residents in Iki-iki and Kameruka sub county in Budaka district have been thrown into panic after over 24 people from different families were admitted to Budhaka Health Centre after eating food suspected to have been poisoned.

The victims developed health complications of vomiting and diarrhoea after eating cassava flour on Friday night. It had been bought from a vending truck .




According to Iki-Iki LC3 Chairperson Zedekiah Modinghi, the victims were rushed to Budhaka Health Centre where they are undergoing treatment.

“The victims are undergoing various tests and many are responding positively after getting treatment and some have been discharged,” said the District Health Officer Sam Wajega.
