Dr. Stella Nyanzi joins South African University

Controversial researcher Dr. Stella Nyanzi was recently suspended from Makerere University over her conduct after she staged a naked protest against her boss Prof. Mahmood Mamdani locking her out of her office.

She might not be back at Makerere in the nearby future as she has joined South Africa’s Stellenbosch University as a research fellow.

“I am very excited about starting my Research Fellowship at Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Studies (www.stias.ac.za). It is great to join an academic space that values the role of research and researchers in Africa,” Nyanzi said.

The Cape Town based university has a view of Table Mountain.

“I am grateful to resume and plunge into producing academic research knowledge without any encumbrances. I was born to do research!”

Congratulations are in order.
