General Saleh reportedly weeding ‘goons’ from Police

Masked-policemenNews reaching us is that General Salim Saleh has personally undertaken a campaign to weed ‘goons’ out of the Police force. Our sources in the power corridors tell us that these goons are unofficial operatives whom Police chief IGP Kayihura has been working with to keep law and order, but who are unruly and go around doing a lot of mischief.

“As a result generals Kayihura and Salim Saleh are on some kind of collision course,” one of our sources says. “General Saleh is moving to clip the wings of these unofficial Police aides because besides their putting the Police into disrepute and making the regime unpopular through their mischief, these ‘goons’ also pose a threat to the regime as any time they could cross to the other side and having a lot of power they would be hard to stop,,” the source adds.

Talking of what exactly general Saleh is doing about the unofficial operatives, other source tells us that General Saleh is already going around Kampala meeting these people and getting information from them, as well as placing them under serious watch and even disarming some.

Our sources tell us this latest drama is all a result of information that embattled former Mbabazi Head of Security, Aine, has given to General Saleh since his return from hiding. The sources say that after Aine told General Saleh he had attempted to get to General Kayihura to come out of hiding but was failed by the unofficial operatives around the IGP, Gen. Saleh asked Aine for details about the unofficial operatives, and Aine spilled all –telling of the havoc they wreck, how they are even more powerful than real Police bosses below Kayihura and how they have brought the name of government and the regime into disrepute.
