KFM presenter Aisha Alibhai has confirmed that she will be contesting for the Soroti Municipality Parliamentary seat come the 2016 elections.
“I am a daughter of the soil and I am ready to serve and work with the people,” Alibhai said.
She is seeking to replace the flamboyant Capt. Mike Mukula, who recently announced that he will not be seeking another term in office.
Alibhai is currently the Corporate Communications Officer at Monitor Publications Ltd, the parent company of Daily Monitor newspaper and KFM, where she co-presents D-Mighty Breakfast show.
She made a U-turn, returning to her Breakfast show job at KFM, after a three year stint as Corporate Communications Officer at Global Trust Bank. The bank was closed by Bank Of Uganda in July 2014.
Alibhai started radio presenting at Capital FM in 2003, before switching to KFM in 2006.
She studied for a Bachelor of Media, Journalism, and Communication at Namasagali University.

Alibhai who is referred to as “yellow chicken” by her friends because of her light skin complexion will be wearing yellow colours as she plans to contest on an NRM ticket.
Capital FM presenter Val Oketcho is also aspiring to join Parliament in Budama North, a constituency that was represented by his late father.
