Congolese new school artiste and ladies’ heartthrob Fally Ipupa is on his way to Uganda.
The date hasn’t been communicated yet, but Talent Africa the guys behind bringing African stars like Wizkid, Mafikizolo, Tiwa Savage and Sauti Sol have confirmed Ipupa is booked for a show in Kampala.
“The next big African star to perform in Uganda will be none other than Fally Ipupa who is Known for his energetic stage shows with his full band and sexy dance moves that drive the ladies wild. He will be here soon for his first performance in UG,” Talent Africa CEO Aly Alibahi confirmed.
About Fally Ipupa
The 37-year-old singer was born Fally Ipupa Nsimba on December 14, 1977, in Kinshasha Democratic Republic of Congo (then Zaire). He is a singer-songwriter, dancer, philanthropist, guitarist and producer
He was part of Koffi Olomidé’s Quartier Latin International band from 1999 to 2006 before starting a solo career. His first solo album was Droit chemin released in 2006, which went on to sell over 100,000 units, and his second album Arsenal de Belles Melodies (A2BM) was released in 2009.
In 2007, Ipupa won the Kora Awards for Best Artiste or Group from Central Africa. In 2010, Fally Ipupa won the MTV Africa Music Awards 2010 for Best Video (for Sexy Dance) and Best Francophone Act.
Ipupa was nominated in the Best Live Act category at the 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards. The song that gave him a cross-over to include English audience was Chaise Electrique, a bilingual love song featuring former G-Unit singer Olivia.
Ipupa is nominated in the 2015 MTV Mama evolution category alongside our own Jose Chameleone.
