Ghetto president Bobi Wine has admitted that when it comes to acting, he is just upcoming.
“I studied drama at Makerere, but I have not been fortunate enough to practice what I studied. When it comes to acting, I am just upcoming, but when it comes to music, you know it is a different story,” Bobi Wine said.
The singer was speaking about his role in the new Situka movie, where he plays the lead role alongside Hellen Lukoma.
Bobi Wine has featured before in another movie titled Divisionz.
The singer almost didn’t get the movie role because of his busy schedule.
“I gave him the script and called him after two weeks, but he hadn’t read the script. Two months later I called and he still hadn’t read it, so I got Sam Ibanda to act the role,” the movie’s producer Hannington Bugingo said.
“I called him on a Sunday and told him we were in Jinja and would begin shooting the movie the next morning. Surprisingly he arrived at the hotel at 3am and asked for another script because he had misplaced the other one. By next morning when we started shooting, he had crammed all his lines, he is a genius,” Bugingo said.
The movie, bankrolled a youth advocacy NGO Twaweza aims to spread the message that youths should take action in issues that affect them.
