Africa is laughing to Anne Kansiime’s jokes and it not surprising that she has more than 1.2m likes on her official Facebook page and a show in a certain part of the world almost every weekend.
She must be used to the compliments of people who tell her she makes their day with her jokes, but when that person is an Oscar award winning actress, then Kansiime can be excused for going native and bringing out the Mukiga in her.
She did just that when she learnt that Hollywood star and Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o had mentioned meeting the comedienne as one of the top moments of 2015. (Read the story here).
Kansiime says that her Christmas is as merry as it can get because of Lupita’s endorsement.
“It’s fine when you get a gig, make people laugh, get paid and go home. But when a real gem acknowledges your struggle, it’s everything. Too late for those that hadn’t wished me a Merry Xmas. My xmas is merry enough already now. Thank you Lupita Nyong’o,” Kansiime posted on her Facebook wall.
The comedienne spent last weekend in Dubai, for business and pleasure (cracking ribs at a comedy show and sight-seeing with her man Ojok).
