President Yoweri Museveni yesterday evening met the musicians who composed his Tubonga Nawe song to drum up support for his 2016 presidential elections, as he seeks a fifth official term in office, to extend his rule to 35 years.

“Team Tubonga Nawe with President Museveni, also NRM presidential candidate after meeting at State House Entebbe,” Presidential Press Secretary Lindah Nabusayi Wamboka shared the photos of the meeting on her social media platforms.

The dozen musicians who were part of the song including Jose Chameleone, Juliana Kanyomozi, Radio & Weasel, Bebe Cool, Irene Namubiru, Remah Namakula, Hajji Haruna Mubiru, King Saha, Mun G, Pastor Wilson Bugembe and Judith Babirye met the president, shortly after he had addressed the media stating that it is actually NRM that is moving forward, not his opponent former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi, who is campaigning under the Go Forward slogan.

There were several additions to the Tubonga Nawe stars including Phina Mugerwa and Omulangira Suuna who have their own compositions praising President Museveni and NRM plus Golden Band singers Catherine Kusasira and Stecia Mayanja who are now dining on the same table with their nemeses Geoffrey Lutaaya and Irene Namatovu of Da New Eagles band.

Irene Ntale and dancehall singer King Michael are the other additions to the NRM entertainers’ list.

The man behind the Tubonga Nawe project is Bobi Wine’s former manager Lawrence Labeja.
