Musician Mamuli Katumba who’s currently struggling with multiple organ failure as a result of diabetes and high blood pressure has spoken out on the aborted charity walk that was supposed to help raise funds for his treatment.
The Kadongo Kamu singer who has been bed-ridden for over four months last Sunday organised a charity walk dubbed “Save Mamuli Katumba
Charity Walk” to raise Shs200m needed for his treatment, but fellow artistes didn’t attend it.
The musicians, friends and other public figures were supposed to walk from National Theatre to Ggaba Beach and hold a fundraising concert.
Speaking to media, a disappointed Mamuli Katumba has since blasted fellow artistes for ignoring his woes in this trying time. “I didn’t know that my fellow artistes are that greedy and selfish. This was supposed to be a well-intentioned cause but a few friends turned up to save me, I am really confused because I don’t know who my friends are,” he said.
It should be recalled that Mamuli Katumba fell and collapsed in the market while buying household items in April this year and since then, the singer has struggled with ill health.
