The thrilling Castle Lite Friday Night Lights is back in a fifth season starting this Friday.

The basketball tournament that is laced with lots of fun games and performances was officially launched at YMCA in Wandegeya, the venue of the event on Wednesday morning.

The event managers, Kinetic Management Group (KMG) have promised challenging and entertaining nights out for the fans. “Our aim with the introduction of Friday Night Lights was to grant the fans a platform where they could interact with some of the local stars,” Vicky Ntale, KMG project manager said at the launch. “We expected exciting challenges for the fans and we believe it will be an exciting and breathtaking season once again.”

Some of the teams that will take part in this year’s season, with the organisers.

Daphne Mwesigwa, the Brand Manager Castle Lite re-affirmed Castle Lite’s commitment to the annual fan event stating that, “The Shs300m commitment that was made by the brand in 2013 for a period of three years still stands.”

“Over the years Friday Night Lights has experienced tremendous growth which resonates with our brand perfectly. Because of its low carb content, Castle Lite can be enjoyed at any time of the day, also making it the perfect beer for people that partake in sports,” she added.

Last year’s winners Team Ikong with Nile Breweries’ Marketing Director, Daniel Ogong.

10 teams will battling for the overall crown and cash prize of Shs5m, while the other finalists will take home Shs3m.

The teams taking part include Team Ikong (defending champions), Team Koma, Team Sudi, Team Amoding, Team Blick, Team Enabu, Team Malinga, Team Duxx, Team Legends and debutants Team Lamunu.

 

Entry to the games is Shs5,000  and Shs25,000 for VIP. The will be entertainers like Apass, Irene Ntale, Sheeba, Ruyonga, Eddie Kenzo, Radio & Weasel and Patrobas during the course of the tourney that ends on 20th March.
