Ever since her nude pictures leaked two weeks ago, Desire Luzinda has kept a low profile until today when she came out of hiding. The singer has mended fences with her family and it was a family gathering that got her out of hibernation. She accompanied her sister to her graduation ceremony at Uganda Martyrs’ University Nkozi this morning.
“Am not hiding, am simply enjoying special moments with family and taking one day at a time. Love u dolls,” Desire Luzinda posted earlier today on her Facebook page.
“Since my brutal attack, I have since survived and comforted by over whelming support and messages in my inbox. Just to let you know that I may not reply to all but I read and treasure all the kind words. God bless you,” the singer posted thanking her fans for the love they have been showing her.
Desire posted of her looking radiant in a white peplum dress. In one of the photos, she appears posing with a her sister.
Yesterday, local NGO, the Centre for Domestic Violence Prevention issued a statement condemning of leaking of nude pictures of women and also lashed out at social media users who share the images as breaching people’s privacy. This has given Desire more strength to come out in public, having first appeared on a BBC interview since the leaking of the images.
