BBA: Uganda’s Esther and Ellah safe as Resa and Mira are evicted

Uganda’s Big Brother Africa representatives Stella “Ellah” Nantumbwe and Esther Akankwasa survived the first eviction Sunday, performing better than one of last year’s representatives Charlie Denzel Mwiyeretsi who lasted only seven days.

Zambia’s Resa evicted first

The first person to be evicted from the Big Brother Hotshots show was Resa. Before her eviction, there was tension in the room as IK told 12 housemates including Uganda’s Ellah to stand.  IK announced Resa as the first evictee and she seemed to take the news well but the news did not go down well with her friend Sipe, who immediately wept. Uganda’s Esther shouted out “I love you Resa” as she escorted the Zambian out of the house. She told IK that she was at peace with the turnout of events and mentioned that she would miss Sipe the most.

Mozambique’s Mira also out

The second evictee in first eviction show was Mira from Mozambique. Mira started off appearing as a shy girl on the show but in the first diary session with Biggie, she assured him that she was not at all shy and wished Africa to understand this. She said that she was just very nervous at the launch show and may have given off that she was shy.

Perhaps Africa began believing that she was not much of a shy girl with the scandal on Friday’s party night when she kissed Luis and Nhlanhla. This was not anticipated from the reserved and somewhat quiet lass but all that was forgotten as events were blamed on the alcohol.

When her name was announced she immediately lunged into Luis’ arms for the last embrace in Biggie’s house. Luis cried and Idris and Sipe comforted him. She embraced Luis again and they kissed as she rushed out of the house.

She told IK that she was happy to be out of the house. “I missed my family … I missed my phone,” she said.

Ellah is safe

Ellah was part of the group that won the extravaganza challenge.

Meanwhile, Ellah breathed a sigh of relief after Sunday’s eviction scare. She is not up for eviction next Sunday as her group that won the theatrical extravaganza challenge won immunity from Biggie. Esther is in the nomination pool, and we await results from the nomination process.
