Founded in 1979, Paidha Black Angels, a West Nile based football earned promotion to Uganda Premier League in emphatic fashion yesterday at the Star Times Stadium, Lugogo.
The Zombo team emerged third runners-up in the Big League after beating Bunyoro side, Kitara FC 4-2 on penalties after a stalemate in normal time. The win threw the fans based in Kampala and West Nile into euphoria!
Allan Kabonge, the PBA coach is the first coach to guide three different clubs to Uganda`s top tier Football league in the country. This paves way for West Nile derby as Paidha Black Angels will face off Onduparaka.
Kabonge had initially guided Onduparaka FC and Masavu FC to the Azam Uganda Premier League before he left for Lira’s struggling side, Lira United.
Ndejje University emerged champions as Nyamityobora took second place as the Big League sides earned promotion to Uganda Premier League.
