As a medical doctor, I have not come across any scientific research that shows someone above 75 years cannot be president — Hon. Rugunda

Prime minister Hon. Ruhakana Rugunda has come out as the first senior government official to publicly support the amendment of the presidential age limit.  According to Dr. Rugunda, there is no scientific reason that prohibits anyone above 75 years to be president.

“I see nothing that provides a scientific or rational reason that somebody who is above 75 years cannot be president,” The Observer reported.

According to the Observer, the prime minister has been meeting youths to popularize a nation-wide campaign to amend the constitution.

“As a medical doctor, I have not come across any scientific research that shows that someone below 35 years or above 75 years lacks the capacity to lead.
