Uganda Cranes have been humbled 3-0 by 2015 AFCON Champions Ivory Coast in the last last build-up game this evening. The boys looked confident in the opening minutes of the game as they managed to contain the Ivorians. The first half ended goalless.

At the start of the second half, Micho substituted Denis Onyango and Farouk Miya for Robert Ondongkara and Moses Oloya respectively. Ivory Coast’s first goal came in the 51th minute as central defenders let Jonathan Kodjia a breathing space hence making it easy for him to slot in a free header. In a space of just 7 minutes former Man United flop Wilfred Zaha made it two for Ivory Coast after his clinical finish from a through pass that left our defense flat footed.

In the 61 minute, Mohammed Shaban, Isaac Isinde and Nicholas Wadada came on for Geoffrey Massa, Timothy Awanyi and Denis Iguma respectively. This brought some enery in the team until 72th  minute when PSG’s right back Serge Aurier accurately headed in a well taken corner from his teammate which seemed to be too heavy for Ondongkara to save.

Geoffrey Walusimbi was Micho’s last substitution in the 75th minute as he came in for Luwagga Kizito. Cranes will now jet off to Gabon and wait for their first game against Ghana on Tuesday 17th  next week.
