The Dr. Stella Nyanzi – Prof. Mahmood Mamdani saga is just unfolding and it has now escalated to unimaginable levels as Nyanzi has undressed outside the professor’s office in protest of being locked out of her office at Makerere University’s Institute of Social Research.

The saga began when Dr. Mamdani wrote her an eviction notice from her office, which she laughed off thanks to a letter from the Deputy Vice Chancellor. Apparently, she had refused to teach on his Phd programme and he decided to throw her out of her office.

When she refused to vacate, the professor had her office locked with padlocks and at first Nyanzi decided to also lock him out of his office because according to her “padlocks are cheap”, and she threatened to undress, which she did a few minutes later.
