Ne-yo’s show was announced by the flagship sponsors Bell Lager during a press conference at the Kampala Sheraton Hotel today.

The show will climax their PopN’Jam promotion that has also been announced.

Ne-yo, real name Shaffer Chimere Smith (born October 18, 1979), is an American Rn’B singer, songwriter, record producer, dancer and actor. Ne-yo gained fame for his songwriting abilities when he penned the 2004 hit Let Me Love You for singer Mario. The single’s successful release prompted an meeting between Ne-Yo and Def Jam’s label head, and the signing of a recording contract.

He went on to become a prolific songwriter and artiste in his own right, with hit songs like So Sick, When You’re Mad, Sexy Love, Closer, Miss Independent and others.

This will be Ne-yo’s third time in Africa in just a couple of months. He performed at the MTV Africa Music Awards in July where he met Talent Africa CEO Aly Alibhai and crack the deal for the Ugandan performance. He is also set to feature in the Coke Studio Africa finale where he will perform with five African acts including Uganda’s Maurice Kirya.
